| Migrate
SCADA Legacy Network to Frame Relay
Most utility SCADA networks in use
today were designed based on point-to-point circuits
that are not taking advantage of advancements in packet-based
technologies. As the demand for more real-time information
is required to effectively manage remote stations, whether
they be electrical, water, or gas in nature, these point-to-point
networks are becoming less cost-effective and less capable
of performing these functions. Verilink’s WANsuite
products allow for a complete migration from a point-to-point
network to a full-featured and proven packet-based Frame
Relay network.
Features and Benefits
- Powerful network management capabilities
for the enforcement of Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- NetVoyant Lite for networks with 25 nodes or
less
- NetVoyant Professional for carrier grade network
management of larger systems
- Seamless integration with industry-standard
management systems such as HP Openview, Concorde,
and other SNMP based systems
- Integrated Web-based tools for ease of configuration
and maintenance
- Supports point-to-point and Frame
Relay networks to allow for upgrading networks in
a timely manner without the need for a “complete
network cut-over”
- Implementation of Frame Relay
can reduce network access charges substantially, with
rates being up to 40% less than tariffed point-to-point
circuits
- Built-in functionality to support
both asynchronous and IP devices in one platform enables
support of multiple RTU vendors
- Integrated TCP server functionality
enables one WANsuite to replace up to 160 modems at
the central site – reducing space requirements
and increasing operational efficiencies
