| Dual
Support for Wireless Network Migration
Many wireless carriers have decided
to upgrade their current analog/TDMA network to either
a network based on GSM or CDMA technology. One of the
biggest problems facing these carriers is the cost associated
with supporting dual technologies as they get subscribers
to migrate from the “old” service to the
newer one. Verilink’s WANsuite 7105 allows carriers
to deploy new infrastructure by leveraging current capacity
available on their existing transport network, thereby
greatly reducing the costs needed for the new deployment.
The built in mini-DACs functionality permits traffic
from both technologies to reside on a single T1 back
to the switching office, eliminating the need for additional
T1s where existing capacity is unused. The WANsuite
7105 can additionally support two data and one Ethernet
devices, which could be used in support of E911 and
RF fingerprinting equipment – all on a single
multiservice platform.
Features and Benefits
- DSU functionality with integrated
mini-DACs can support dual wireless technologies as
well as E911 and RF fingerprinting equipment
- Reduces need for additional leased
facilities, providing a payback in as little as three
to five months on capital investment
- Integrated bantam jacks eliminate
the need for test equipment by detecting line errors
and allowing for looping and BERT injection from the
network termination as well as the equipment termination
sides
- Chassis-based solution with redundant
power offers density terminations that exceed Bellcore
lightning standards to protect your infrastructure
investments
- Software ability allows for unlimited
pre-designed configuration combinations through Web
browser, VT100, or Telnet management interfaces
