Verilink NCC Craft Port -- C --

The letter C is used on the Shelf/Slot map of the Top or Main Menu to represent a CSU card. In the case of a card in slot 1 of shelf 1, this would be an NCC2020 . The NCC2020 predates the SCC series. It features a craft interface which is virtually identical to the newer SCC card, instead of supporting SNMP management the NCC supports management via a proprietary network management program developed by Verilink and called Access Manager 2000.

Both the NCC2020 and the SCC2020 contain two completely separate functions. Each is a network controller and each is also a T1 CSU.

The T1 CSU portion of an NCC2020 or an SCC2020 is identical to the TAC2010 card, which is a CSU only, not a node controller.

Each node (group of shelves connected together) must have only one Node Controller card. This card should be located in slot 1 of shelf 1. If additional CSU cards are needed use TAC2010 cards instead of adding more NCC cards.

Therefore, a C located in the slot 1 shelf 1 position will represent an NCC2020 or SCC2020 while a C located at some other position will represent a TAC2010.
