Verilink NCC Craft Port -- IDCSU --

The IDCSU (Integrated DSU CSU) is a self contained single port T1 DSU which always uses one and only one synchronous serial data interface. There are five different versions of the IDCSU, documented below this configuration menu.

Note the absence of a "DIU Bus" option. The IDCSU does not use any shelf backplane bus to exchange data/timeslots with any other cards. It is a self contained unit only. It also does not provide any 4 wire DSX-1 equipment interface like a TAC2010 or NCC2020 card; therefore Drop & Insert mode is not supported.

The five types of IDCSU are:

SCC2130 - SNMP Node controller card plus integrated CSU/DSU. Supports V.35, RS-449 or EIA 530 synchronous serial interfaces for data. Includes ASCII craft port for management of the entire node and also supports SLIP and/or Ethernet connections for SNMP management.

NCC2130 - As above except supports Verilink proprietary AM2000 network management software instead of SNMP. No Ethernet or SLIP support, but does support modem connections to the AM2000 as well as the craft interface.

TAC2130 - As above except without craft or network management support. All Verilink products with names that begin "TAC" must rely on some NCC or SCC card through which they are optioned and managed.

TAC2130S - As above except with the (dysfunctional) front panel jack field removed. The TAC2130S does not support TIU timing or DTE timing.

TAC2130-T - This lower cost version of the IDCSU requires use of a CDM2035-T rear connnector module instead of the CDM2035 which may, optionally, be used with all other IDCSU types. Supports V.35 only, does not support tail circuit timing or TIU timing.
