When the registers are reset all of the stored information for the preceeding 24 hours is lost.
Several situations might warrant choosing to reset the registers:
1) If the unit has just been installed or has been replaced during a service event it may be desirable to reset the registers because there is no valid 24 hour history in them anyway.
2) If an alarm condition has caused the STAT led on the front of the NCC (or TAC2010) card to go red, that led will not return to it's normal off state for as long as 15 minutes after the original alarm has cleared. The STAT led can be made to go off in these situations by a two step process. First, under the CSU DIAGNOSTICS menu, use letter Z to Reset Alarms, then reset the registers using R for Reset Registers under the PERFORMANCE MENU.
