Verilink NCC Craft Port --TERMINAL SETUP --

The NCC card will autobaud to various terminal data rates, we suggest you set your terminal program as follows:

Data Rate : 19,200 BPS
Word Size : 8 bits
Parity : None
Stop Bits : One
Flow Control: None

The Verilink craft interface does not assert any control leads. If using Windows 95 Hyperterminal be certain to describe the connection as being a direct serial port connection, as opposed to a modem connection.

Verilink provides a cable called a "craft cable" which has an RJ-11 at one end and a female DB-25 at the other. Connect the RJ-11 modular connector to the port labeled "craft" on the front of the NCC card.

The Verilink provided craft cable, part number 458-501788-008, is typically connected to another cable provided by the user. If using a modern computer that has a DB-9 connector for the COM port you may use the same type of standard PC AT serial cable as would be used to connect to an external modem.

The craft cable pinout is as follows:

You may prefer to fabricate a cable to go directly from the DB-9 COM port of a computer to the Verilink Craft port. If so, use this pinout:
