Verilink NCM 2000 -- Node Address --

On line 4 of the NCM Main Menu, a series of numbers appear inside angle brackets:

Managing at NEAR end node [0.0.0.2]
This is the Verilink node address for the node. It is NOT an IP address.

The Verilink node address is used by NCM modules to differentiate between each other.

When the optional Verilink Node Manager software is used, it also depends upon the node address to distinguish one node from another. The Node Address is changed by using the "A) set node address" command on the Administration Menu.

NOTE: The first octet (first three digits) of the Node Address must not exceed 127.

The IP addresses for the Ethernet interface and the SLIP interface are set using the Network Configuration Menu, a submenu accessed through the Administration Menu.
