 Verilink’s
PRISM 3021 is a single-port network terminating unit
(NTU) with a drop-and-insert port that provides a flexible
solution for E1 connectivity from your remote site to
a central site. The PRISM 3021 is available as a standalone
device or as part of an integrated solution for larger
sites requiring scalable access to a broad range of
network services. As an E1 transmission device, the
PRISM 3021’s key advantages include comprehensive
diagnostics and simple configuration—resulting
in lower network operating costs.
With the PRISM 3021, an array of diagnostic capabilities
is available to assist in fault isolation. Loops include
line, payload, digital and channelized—eliminating
the guesswork in determining if a channel is active.
Loops can be initiated from either the front panel or
the command-line interface. In addition, tests include
an integral BERT that supports six different test functions
and eleven patterns—for remote diagnostics without
additional test equipment or a field dispatch.
The
PRISM 3021 offers multiple alarm states so you have
maximum performance-monitoring capability. Alarm states
such as bi-polar violation (BPV), cyclic redundancy
check (CRC), loss of frame, loss of signal and alarm
indication signal (AIS) have programmable thresholds
that allow the network manager to select a tolerance
level for each state. Alarms can also be reported via
modem, via reports directed to a printer or from the
Verilink 8100A Site Controller—providing you with
flexible reporting tools.
Configuring
the PRISM 3021 is simple, via DIP switches, a command-line
interface, or SNMP/Telnet (when the 8100A Site Controller
is utilized as the manager). The PRISM 3021 incorporates
straightforward configuration so your network operates
efficiently. Verilink’s PRISM 3021 provides a
perfect solution for network operators who need to support
