APS

Automatic Protection Switching (APS) provides for immediate facility back-up to protect the most critical network locations. APS can be configured for use with a single service provider or as a back up using an alternate carrier. Verilink integrates two versions of APS functionality, the TR54017 specification, and Auto A/B.

Verilink’s implementation of TR54017 enables automatic switching between two T1 lines in the event of performance degradation or circuit failure.

Auto A/B line switching is a single-ended A/B switch. Auto A/B allows seamless switching from one service provider to another if the primary provider can no longer carry service.
