Training Module Descriptions
These training modules are designed
for presentation by a live instructor. The approximate
time required for each module is shown in parentheses.
The actual time depends on your level of familiarity
with telecommunications concepts and Verilink products.

Concepts
T1/E1 Basics (2-3 hours)
The T1/E1 Basics training module provides an overview
of digital transmission, digital communications, and
T1/E1 carrier concepts. These concepts include pulse
code modulation, time division multiplexing, and T1/E1
framing formats. It provides a brief review for experienced
attendees and a solid introduction for attendees new
to the field.
Frame Relay (1-2 hours)
Frame Relay carrier concepts, including
frame structure, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
AS2000
Training Modules
AS2000 (2-3 hours)
In this training module we will discuss the Access
System 2000 system and the ACE architecture. Topics
include the available bus structures, CSU modes, timing
configurations, the ACE crosspoint switch, and troubleshooting
concepts.
NCC and SCC Family (2-3 hours)
This hands-on training module introduces the NCC and
SCC controller modules and the family of modules which
they can control, including the TAC CSUs and the DIU
data modules. We will configure all three CSU modes
with these products.
NCM Controller (1 hour)
The NCM Controller training module gives an overview
followed by hands-on training on how to use the NCM
controller to manage local and remote sites. Concepts
include firmware downloads, inband management, circuit-building,
dial back-up, and using SNMP with the NCM.
Dual CSU, DIDCSU, Inverse Multiplexer, DS3 DSU (2 hours
each)
These hands-on training modules use
step-by-step exercises to practice installing, configuring,
and troubleshooting. After using all of the menus, we
may practice creating and troubleshooting a different
network scenario (as time allows).

WANsuite (2-4 hours)
These hands-on training modules use
step-by-step exercises to practice installing, configuring,
and troubleshooting.
